Where and when do you shoot weddings and engagements?


I shoot all year, around Southern California and beyond, with spring through fall being the busiest part of wedding season. For that reason, I highly encourage you to book your dates well in advance, to make sure they do not book up. For engagement sessions, I encourage you to select a weekday date, as my favorite locations are far less crowded during the week. Because weddings are generally left open for weddings or for family time, engagement sessions booked on a weekend date require an additional, nominal fee.




Are there travel fees, in addition to your package fees?


For some sessions, additional travel fees do apply, depending on the distance from my studio to your location. Travel fees compensate my team for the additional time spent commuting to and from a given job, as well as mileage, gas, and vehicle wear-and-tear. Travel fees are broken down as follows: Locally (under 10 miles) = no additional cost 10-25 miles = $60 25-50 miles = $90 50+ miles = negotiated and handled on a case-by-case basis




What does the initial meeting look like?


I encourage all of the couples I chat with to have a meeting with their potential vendors ahead of time, to see if its a good vibe fit, to go over previous work and style, and to ask any questions. If you can't meet in person for a coffee or tea locally, I like to at least meet via Skype or Google Hangouts, to get to know you and your story a bit better. Due to scheduling limitations, all in-person meetings I take occur close to my home studio. If you would like to set up a meeting, please email me.




How do we reserve you for our date?


All dates are officially reserved once your signed contract and deposit have been received.




How is payment collected?


I accept cash, check, or credit card. For all credit card transactions, there is an additional fee of 3% per transaction.




What happens if we change our wedding date or cancel our wedding?


While I understand that life can sometimes throw curveballs, due to the very busy nature and heavy demands of professional photography, I enforce a strict cancellation policy. For wedding date changes outside of three months, I will apply your deposit toward a new date, if I am available on the new date. Wedding cancellations made within three months forfeit the deposit amount. For engagement and other sessions, cancellations made 3-7 days before your scheduled shoot may only apply your deposit to a new date. For cancellations made under 3 days (72 hours), the deposit will be forfeited, and a new deposit will be required to book a new date.




What should I expect, as far as image delivery?


I hand-select the best images of your special day - those in focus, with wonderful expressions, and great lighting - and deliver only the best images to you. My post-production work is quite lengthy, and involves color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments, and other corrections as needed, to ensure that your images tell your story cohesively and beautifully. The quantity of images delivered will depend on which specific package was purchased. I deliver full-resolution photos, which are ideal for print quality (up to around 20x30"), and which will enable you to create stunning family heirlooms that last for years. If you would also like web-resolution photos, or if you have larger printing needs (additional post-production processing fee), please let me know. Due to the precision used in my editing, please expect 6-8 weeks of turnaround time, after your wedding has concluded. If you require images in under four weeks, a rush processing fee of $200 will apply.




What are my rights to the digital prints?


You have the right to reprint your images as much as you like. However, no images may be sold for profit or published on websites, in books, et cetera, without written consent from Chelsea Vincent Photography (social media accounts for personal use are fine, but please no filters or funky edits without prior approval, so that my public body of works remains consistent).




Do you provide RAW images?


RAW images are, quite frankly, HUGE. They also are unfinished, so the quality of work is quite different than an edited collection. For this reason, I generally do not provide RAW files for engagement or wedding sessions. If you have specific needs around this, please contact me.




How long do I have access to my images online?


Once you have been sent your personal link to your online album, you will have access to your album for 60 days. After 60 days, all online albums are archived (as they take quite a bit of storage space). If you lose your images after the 60-day window, or if you forget to download them in that timeframe, there is a fee of $50 for additional downloads after the event has been archived (due to the fact that I have to recreate your online album, essentially). I strongly suggest storing your photos to two separate devices, to ensure you always have access to them.




Do you provide wedding albums or photo prints?


For tax reasons, as well as for allowing couples the freedom to create their own wedding album styles and selections, I do not currently offer wedding albums or photo prints. However, if you need recommendations, I am happy to help.




Do you have liability insurance?


Yes. Most venues require the photographer have Liability Insurance, and Chelsea Vincent Photography is covered for all weddings.




Have you worked at our venue in the past?


I have shot at many, many venues in and around Los Angeles, so there is a good chance that I have worked at your venue before. However, if I have not, I do extensive research beforehand, to make sure I know what to expect. I also arrive at the venue well before our scheduled shooting start time, to scout out the location and get an idea of the layout, lighting for various shots, et cetera.




Do you do destination weddings? What are the additional fees?


While I am based in Los Angeles, I love travel, and I love working on-location for destination weddings. Destination weddings follow the same pricing as our local weddings, with the additional costs (per shooter/videographer) of: airfare, baggage fees, reasonable hotel accommodations (for the evening before and the evening of the event), rental car, vendor meals on the event day, and a per diem of $45/day per shooter, on non-event days. What if our wedding is longer than the package time or goes longer than expected?


Great question! I am happy to extend photography coverage, at the rate of $200 per additional hour of coverage (beyond what is specified in the package or your contract, respectively).
